what i found that worked was using non scented all natural soaps and what REALLY helps me, is that using this medicine called protopic, its amazing for me, it rids of my rashes, flares, and i apply it at night. hope this helps.

anyways those worked wonders for me , i still get flare ups like you said from beer but i just cannot give it up ,i just dont drink it as often
but natural remedys really did work for me so maybe they will too for anyone who hasnt tried them yet
hopefully this helps oh and ps i found tons of other remedys online but these worked for me so i never tried the others ???
ok good luck everyone

ok and now for the good stuff , that your doctors dont tell you about but that worked amazing for me !!!
100% pure aloe vera gel as a moisturizer it also soothed my itchy eczema
100% neem oil (works but its a bit smelly for me )
100% apricot oil was my fave because its sooo safe and i was able to use it on my face and eyelids !
also vitamin e worked but not as well as apricot oil
and orally evening primrose oil really really helps
it helps to balance the oils in your body

sry ran out of characters lol
anyways
dont use anything with frangrance , soaps or lotions
avoid harsh ingredients such as dimethicone, alcohol, sulfates , parabens , dioxide etc etc
also avoid petroleum based products they dont let your skin breathe

I had eczema really badly for a long time. I went to 4 different doctors all did nothing but prescribe cortisone which only made it worse. Refused to send me to an allergist because i wasnt dying ( just had such terrible eczema it bled , no biggie )
It was on my foot, elbows, hands , neck , face, even on my eyelids ,
i was so fed up , embaressed and in pain ,
so i googled day and night
and found some really great natural remedys

If its any consolation? your skin looks fine. I just watched all your videos and its so true about maintaining a healthy diet etc. I’m always tempted by the bogus ‘miracle’ creams. So funny when you say Jeff? out hahaha lol. Salmon, carrots, spinach, all that kind of stuff helps. Also, yellow fruits. Drinking lemon, honey mixed in water (pretty nasty sometimes). I use glycerin with rosewater, glycerin is in a lot of products and helps your skin stay soft :)

Another thing that has helped me a lot and completely got rid of the itching is to use Dove sensitive skin unscented body soap. Use this as your soap when showering/bathing. It is hypo-allergenic. Make sure you use the fragrance free.

This soap is a moisturizing soap so it won’t dry out the skin.

One thing to remember when your out in the sun you must use Sunscreen SPF 50 or higher to protect your skin from damage.

Also the sun can make the effects of Eczema stronger because the sun weakens and damages the skin.

Eczema slows the skins ability to recover dramatically making it even more important for Eczema suffers to protect their skin (especially the face).

When you shower don’t let the water temperature get that hot. Eczema won’t flare as badly when the water is more room temperature to warm.

I’m sorry you can’t afford something as simple as a prick test. I come from Toronto, and a simple thing like that is free! :(

For the flax oil and apple cider vinegar – does it need to put consumed orally? Can you apply it directly to the affected skin? Can you cook with it?

snickersthemouse February 17, 2010 at 1:03 am

snickersthemouse February 17, 2010 at 1:16 am

The best thing I could of done is to stop eating all Dairy Products!!! I lost about 20 pounds in the past 2 months since I went on my diet. I also use Olive oil to moisturize my skin. It works great!!!

Man your skin is healing good….Let me tell you all something. Eczema is caused by undigested mucus inside the body. Once the body overflows with this mucus and other toxins over a long period of time the mucus goes through the skin because it cannot go through the bowel. I did a full body cleanse with herbs and a strict organic food diet and the eczema cleared. I never went to the doctor either.

How do we deal with showers :( Those horrible things we must deal with everyday, after having one I feel horrible until I arrive at school (thankfully)

beachballsify February 17, 2010 at 3:06 am

also i remembered its also called a prick test, get your doctor to recommend you to a dermatologist, mine did but i couldnt go because i couldnt afford it :( but i definitely will in the future when i start making money lol i could benefit alot from it

beachballsify February 17, 2010 at 4:00 am

i think a dermatologist can do it for you, i doubt your general practioner can do it, gp’s could only give you like flu shots prescriptions and that kinda stuff

duby149 February 17, 2010 at 4:13 am

but where do i go to have it done

beachballsify February 17, 2010 at 4:18 am

apparently you can do like a skin test to find out your allergies, they do it on your arm with a whole bunch of different chemicals that are used in cosmetic products or foods, im not quite sure of this yet, ive only heard of it but im also thinking of doing it because it would be great if i could find out my allergies
